Hi, I’m Brett.
Before there was a continual flow of leads each day. Before there was consistent sales. My days were full of stress, anxiety, and “shiny object syndrome”. I was scattered between lead generation, “closing techniques”, and a thousand other “blueprints” and “systems” that I thought would surely be the solution.
I felt exhausted.
I felt frustrated.
And most of all…I felt scared.
Time was moving on, and money was running out…
In order to keep our financial heads above water I had to sell a rental property we owned, so we could live on the equity. That was my wife’s condo. Before we were married she remodeled the entire thing by herself. She taught 2nd grade for 10 years, saved every penny, & worked her butt off to get it paid for. My lack of results forced us to sell it. I couldn’t make a couple thousand bucks to pay our monthly bills.
…talk about a feeling of inadequacy.
Although Lacey never said a single word, I knew she was losing faith in my dream to succeed in the sales profession.
I could sense it.
At this point, I had one of two options…
#1 Get a job
#2 Double down
I made a decision – and I doubled down.
I purchased and devoured every sales book I could get my hands on (still do). I took courses and trainings. I learned how to speak from stage & I made hundreds of calls each day.
Sales and Marketing completely consumed my mind.
Late nights. Early mornings. Every day. ALL DAY.
16-18 hours a day of studying, practicing, and testing was the norm. Over the course of several months I was averaging over $4,000 per month in books, coaching, and online education. It was a fire hose of information! It was painful – It was worth it.
Here’s what I discovered…
THE NAME OF THE GAME IN ANY SALES OR MARKETING PROFESSION IS PROSPECTING.
It doesn’t matter if your business is online or offline…
If your business is online; then your job is to prospect via content, webinars, facebook/instagram lives, launches, paid traffic, etc…
If your business is offline; then you prospect via the the phone, face to face, through referrals, word of mouth, etc…
(it’s best to have a mixture of both…)
But regardless of your business type, or marketing methods…
It’s ALL some form of prospecting.
As Harvey Mackay said in his book, Dig Your Well Before You’re Thirsty, “Most insurance salespeople (or any sales professional for that matter) fail not because they don’t know how to sell insurance but because they don’t know how to prospect.”
Not everyone has what it takes to succeed in sales – but some people do. And my guess is that if you’re reading these words – you are one of them. I don’t know where you’re at in your life right now?… Maybe you’re on the brink of the financial edge like I was. Maybe you’re having sleepless nights because you don’t know how to “get leads”? Or perhaps, you’ve been through countless sales courses and trainings without seeing success, and you’re ready to throw in the towel-
Regardless of where you’re at, know this…
There is hope. There is a way. It is possible.
Come with me.
